The Body Holds What Has Not Been Met

Emotions we haven't fully felt have a way of staying with us. They settle into the body as tension, tiredness or a heaviness that rest never quite shifts, and after a while they become such a familiar background hum that we forget they're there at all.

Over time they shape how we hold ourselves: the jaw that clenches for no obvious reason, the chest that tightens in quiet moments, the shoulders carrying a weight with no visible source. The body is remarkably honest, even when the mind has learned to look the other way.

Holding on like this is a survival strategy, and at one point it served you well, because the original feeling was simply too much to take in. The difficulty is that what once protected you can start to feel confining if it's never revisited.

Working with stored triggers and reactive patterns asks for something a little different from talking them through. The work creates enough safety and presence for what's been held to soften and dissolve, without needing to relive the past, so the energy that was tied up can return and relief and clarity can follow in their own time.

The process itself is usually quiet, often surprising and deeply freeing. People frequently describe a lightness they'd forgotten was possible, as though something they'd been carrying for years had finally been set down.

Learning to meet what's been stored, gently and without judgement, is one of the most meaningful steps you can take on a healing journey, and it makes room for the whole person you already are to come back into view.
