The Practitioner

Well hello there, I'm Larissa, the Soul Doctor.

I'm redefining pain recovery for those unwilling to ‘just live with it’.

Let me guess: you're here because you're looking for answers.

You're done living with aches and pains that won't go away, no matter what you try. You've tried the pills, the supplements, and the recommended therapies, and are still frustrated by the lack of real change — or any explanation for what's going on.

You're more than ready for something that gets you back to what you love, without pain ruling your day. You are not alone. Every day, I work with clients who are right where you are now. And I was once there myself.

Take a deep breath, it is possible to shift your pain.

The Background

A mind-body-soul approach to pain recovery

I began my career focused on helping people through skilled, evidence-informed physical care. Then educating further on pain science, integrative health and complex presentations. Osteopathy gave me a deep understanding of how the body functions, adapts, and heals. Yet over time, I noticed that for some people, lasting improvement wasn't just about treating the physical body.

Again and again, I saw people's bodies holding onto experiences that hadn't been fully resolved. Not only physically, but emotionally and energetically as well. Until the deeper layers were acknowledged, people often found themselves returning with the same pain, patterns, or limitations. Even though the scans and tests were in normal range.

Once I recognised this it was hard to ignore. I saw the same patterns in friends, family, and within myself. It became clear there was a missing piece that conventional approaches alone didn't always address.

That realisation led me on a much broader path of discovery, development and practice. When I integrated my allied health experience with energy medicine modalities and transformational disciplines, clients experience deeper more lasting shifts.

Part of my superpower is that I see what's happening beneath the surface. And I mean that literally — perceiving what moves in and around the body, the macro and the micro, the dense and the subtle. It's something like looking beneath the skin, sensing where energy flows freely and where it's become stuck, tangled, or compressed. And I work at the level where patterns show themselves, the places conventional approaches often cannot reach.

So, yes, I take a different approach to pain. I believe the emotional and energetic parts of our lives are a huge part of our physical experience. The gap in understanding from the mainstream, or even from loved ones, doesn't serve that side of life very well.

What's important to me is to bridge that gap. I see my role as holding space and guiding so that you can connect more easily with what is going on at the level where body, mind, and spirit meet. And do this with honesty, gentleness, safety, and humour. I believe self-connection is the real VIP of your long-term healing. So let's dissolve the stress and banish the aches, so you can feel like yourself again.

Why This Is Different From What You Have Tried

If you are wondering whether I am the right person to help, that is a fair question to ask, especially after everything that has already fallen short. So here is the honest answer.

Most approaches work on one layer — the muscle, the joint, the diagnosis on the scan. They are not wrong, they are just incomplete. What they tend to miss is the emotion and energy held beneath the symptom, which is so often the very thing keeping persistent pain in place.

That is the level I work at, drawing on 25 years in allied health alongside energy medicine. Not instead of what you have tried, but reaching the place those things could not. That is the difference, and it is why change becomes possible.

Something my body had held for years just... let go. I finally feel like myself again.

More About Me

Beyond the practice

So I'm easy to spot as someone who enjoys pursuing the mind-body-spirit aspect of health, but did you also guess that I like muscle cars? And if anyone has a 1973 Barracuda for sale, please find your way to the contact page.

I live in New Zealand after many years in Canada, I'm drastically cutting back on coffee, I adore cats, and I'm lucky to have both mountain and coast on my doorstep — although I'm still a bit of a chicken with the early morning ocean dips.

Currently, I'm working on a programme for people who can't work directly with me due to time zones or other constraints. And I'd love a bucket-list trip to the U.S.A., like the one I did around South America.
